David E. Schneider

David Schneider is professor of music history and chair of the Music Department at Amherst College. In addition to his scholarly work on Hungarian composers Béla Bartók and Ferenc Erkel, he is founder of the Buckley Chamber Players. As a clarinetist he has been a member of the Alaria Chamber Ensemble (NYC) and the Berkeley Symphony (under Kent Nagano). He has also performed with numerous new music ensembles including Composer’s Inc. and EARPLAY. He is currently preparing a recording of recent chamber music for Albany Records.
